What’s On Ōamaru is a self-owned, locally funded platform created by locals, for locals — and for the many visitors who fall in love with our incredible little town.

We officially launched in June 2025, and in just our first month, we reached over 61,000 views across our platforms — and we’re only just getting started.

Our mission is to bring all of Ōamaru’s activities online — showcasing everything this town has to offer, from art and history to food, nature, quirky attractions, hands-on experiences, and more. We aim to shine a light on every part of our local economy — from small businesses to tourism operators and hospitality providers — helping drive bookings, foot traffic, and visibility where it matters most.

We offer:

• Free listings for local events, classes, and experiences
• Weekly online promotion through our website and growing social channels
• Optional booking support 

As we grow, we also want to create space for learning, mentoring, and opportunity — supporting both young people and adults who are keen to explore business, creativity, or entrepreneurship.
