Waitaki Winter Warm Up Event

Waitaki Winter Warm Up Event

The Great Waitaki Warm Up – August in Ōamaru

This August, Ōamaru turns up the heat with The Great Waitaki Warm Up — a two-week celebration of winter comfort, bold flavours, and local creativity.

A Celebration of Local Taste & Talent

For two weeks only, ten of Waitaki’s favourite cafés, bars, and eateries are serving limited-edition winter warmers. From steaming mulled wine to rich hot toddies, from decadent hot chocolates (both boozy and family-friendly) to slow-simmered soups, hand-crafted coffee blends, and indulgent Whitestone Cheese baked brie — these are the flavours to take the chill off a crisp Waitaki winter.

This is your invitation to step out, warm up, and savour the season. Whether it’s a catch-up with friends, a quiet solo treat, or a cosy winter date, you’ll find something made with care and served with heart.
